Asthma Treatment

Which Asthma Treatments Are Most Effective?
Treatments for asthma vary from individual to individual.  The most popular treatments for asthma may involve either control medications or quick-relief medications.  The common control drugs are often administered through an inhaler or as a pill.  An inhaler delivers a specific amount of medicine, usually in aerosol form or a dry powder form, to a person’s lungs. The controller medications MUST be used daily, as prescribed. Treatment for Asthma | Treatments for Asthma – Center 4 Asthma Allergy

The quick-relief or rescue inhalers can offer immediate relief by relaxing the muscles around the airway and are also known as broncho dilators.  They are used ONLY when symptomatic. Remember not to use an inhaler unless prescribed by a physician.

  1. When I was a lot younger I played on a baseball team that required us to run a lot. There was a kid on my team who had severe asthma and forgot his inhaler one day. It was really scary and he ended up having to use someone else’s just so he didn’t stop breathing completely. This article is great because it explains the need to get inhalers and medication prescribed to prevent accidents like these.
